DETAILSDATES: 22ND SEPTEMBER 2019
CLASS: 1 FULL DAY COURSE 10:30AM - 5:30PM
COURSE FEE: £60 (INC VAT) + £3 booking fee
This course is available to advanced game graduates and above.
Any scene - in both comedy and drama - immediately becomes more exciting when there is playfulness among the performers on stage. This workshop looks at being actively playful in improvisation, and keeping each moment alive on stage. We will look at methods from theatre, devising and improv to find more connection between scene partners, and to discover more freedom and joy when approaching premise and game, and when improvising.
Sophia Broido can be seen improvising in shows such as The Wilsons, Waterlilies on a Chinese Lagoon, Jacuzii and SORRY. She trained in theatre with Philippe Gaulier, and in improv with teachers from iO, Second City, Monkey Toast and the FA. She has worked as an actor, writer and creative associate in theatre, and as an improviser has taught courses such as Harold, Advanced Harold and Performance Lab for the Free Association. She created and runs the show Uncle Glen's Menagerie, which has played at Underbelly, The FA, Arcola Theatre and the Soho Theatre.
This Skill Session will take place on Sunday 22nd September from 10:30AM-5:30PM (Including 1hr lunch break) and will take place at THE FA’S COMEDY ROOM.
